Many Christians are fretting, worrying about who is going to win the 2008 presidential election. Not a day goes by that I don’t hear someone cursing our country by predicting doom and blaming it upon 1) nonbelievers who are for liberal/socialist candidates or 2) Conservative candidates highly influenced by humanisitic thought.
“Fresh hope: There is no need to fret yourself over these temporal things. I, the Lord have a plan and a purpose for my people and nothing can stop it. Democrates, Republicans, Socialists, Athiests… Do you not remember that I declared that ‘the gates of hell will not prevail against my church.’”
Additionally, in the book of Isaiah, chapter 45, the sovereignty, plans and purposes of God are clear. This chapter speaks of His servant Cyrus, a pagan ruler who God says will accomplish everything that He has purposed for him in His generation, Cyrus was a non-believer…but, “Thus says the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have taken hold of, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut (Isaiah. 45:1).”
Note that the Lord calls this non believing ruler….HIS ANNOINTED.

Here is an experpt from Wikipedia…which I found particularly interesting:
The only known example of his religious policy is his treatment of the Jews in Babylon. The Bible records that a remnant of the Jewish population returned to the Promised Land from Babylon, following an edict from Cyrus to rebuild the temple. This edict is fully reproduced in the Book of Ezra . As a result of Cyrus’ policies, the Jews honored him as a dignified and righteous king. He is the only Gentile to be designated as a messiah , a divinely-appointed king, in the Tanakh ( Isaiah 45:1-6).
Summary: God is in control of the 2008 election. The Christian has responsibility to follow the drectives of 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” But after this is done the Christian is to release the matter to God.
However the upcoming election it twists and turns, God can annoint a believer or nonbeliever to get his work done. We need not fret and fear. HE WILL ACCOMPLISH HIS PLANS AND PURPOSES EVEN THROUGH MEN WHO DO NOT KNOW HIM OR CALL UPON HIS NAME. This does not mean that their will be “peace and prosperity in the land, either. It does mean that God’s will…will be accompished, especially for the church in regards to purpose and sanctification.
Our problems in America will not be solved by political means anyway…ALL problems will be solved when the 1st commandment is obeyed.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). Today the Lord would say to you… 2008 is a time for my children ot lay down the unnecessary weights and burdens they have been carrying in 2007. There was much that you did in your own strength last year that was not from Me. Let this year be the year that you come away with Me in prayer and worship and devotion to get MY strategy, MY direction and MY timing for the tasks and the calling over your life. All true REST comes by spending time in my presence. True rest comes by taking my yoke apon you. Not the yoke of your parents. Not the yoke of yoke of friends. Not the yoke of organized religion and legalism. But MY yoke. The yoke that is LIGHT. LIGHT. Not burdensome, not heavy but rightly fit according to my plans and purpsoses for you. MY Yoke is LIGHT, but my yoke also brings LIGHT. Clarity to your situtations and circumstances. As some of my children celebrate the season of Advent, and rejoice that I was the true light that came into the world, confess over your selves that LIGHT–that burden breaking LIGHTNESS that will bring you into the place that I have purposed for you. So get in my yoke this New Year and together, we will commune and fellowship. And out of that intimacy will come the REST you have longed for. Again I say… Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to Me all who labor and are heavy laden AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me. For I’m gently and lowly in heart, AND YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light”

Many of you already know that their are seasons in God. The book of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 talks about those seasons. To everything their is a season, a time, and a purpose under heaven.
T o everything there is a season,
a time for every purpose under the sun.
A time to be born and a time to die;
a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
a time to kill and a time to heal …
a time to weep and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn and a time to dance …
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to lose and a time to seek;
a time to rend and a time to sew;
a time to keep silent and a time to speak;
a time to love and a time to hate;
a time for war and a time for peace.
The Lord would say to you today that even as you look around and see the newness of spring, the new life and growth that is all around you, truely now is the season, the time that God is doing a parallel work in the spirit concerning women and shattered dreams, deferred hopes and general hopelessness. God is restoring to women in this hour fresh hope, new life and even the very resurrection life of His Son, Jesus to His much adored women in this hour. This is not a work that is born out of striving to believe, or have faith or hope but a natural outcome of the previous seasons of refinement, dark nights of the soul and spiritual and mental depression. The Lord is supernaturally imparting this fresh hope, this heavenly radience and joy from His throne. Those who have yielded to His Spirit will see, feel and realize this impartation and know deep in thier hearts that this work is, yes, and amen, a work of GRACE, GRACE and MORE GRACE poured out upon His women in this hour. Women will know and sense that they have been lifted into a new demension, a new season by the mercy, faithfullness and grace of God. So strenghten your feeble knees and lift up your hands for behold, you Savior comes…. He comes to you as FRESH HOPE.
The Lord woke me up at 3:30 am. I went to my office and began to read more about the concept of Biblical hope. I felt led to examine Isaiah 35:
Isaiah 35 Joy of the Redeemed
1 The desert and the parched land will be glad;
the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
Like the crocus, 2 it will burst into bloom;
it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;
they will see the glory of the LORD,
the splendor of our God.
3 Strengthen the feeble hands,
steady the knees that give way;
4 say to those with fearful hearts,
“Be strong, do not fear;
your God will come,
he will come with vengeance;
with divine retribution
he will come to save you.”
5 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened
and the ears of the deaf unstopped.
6 Then will the lame leap like a deer,
and the mute tongue shout for joy.
Water will gush forth in the wilderness
and streams in the desert.
7 The burning sand will become a pool,
the thirsty ground bubbling springs.
In the haunts where jackals once lay,
grass and reeds and papyrus will grow.
8 And a highway will be there;
it will be called the Way of Holiness.
The unclean will not journey on it;
it will be for those who walk in that Way;

they will not be found there.

In reference to the glory of Lebanon:
Lebanon in the land of Cannan on the north…land that was given to Isreal…( Spiritual implication: A season of Restoration for those who seek God with their whole heart…like unto Lebanon which was bountiful with the cedars, flowers, fragrance, fragrance of wines. Lebanaon had a glorious appearance and many streams came from Lebanon. Cedars: Strength. Flowers: Beauty. Fragrance: Annointing. Wines: The blood of Jesus that cleanses ande purifies.
Summation: In this season of restoration, faithful believers will be graced with all of the glory and beauty of Lebanon.
Further insights: Glory is light and fire, divine truth and wisdom. See. Ezekiel 1:27, 28. All of these are the likeness of God. God’s external manifestation is fire and light, the internal manifestation is wisdom, truth and holiness. LOGOS and RHEMA, the written historical WORD and the LIVING WORD which is Christ.
References to Carmel in the Psalm: Carmel was considered a garden land. Belivers will be fruitful and lush like gardens in their lives and ministries…

THE TREE OF LIFE
Yesterday, The Lord spoke to me about eating from the Tree of Life versus eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
If you are familiar with the Bible, you know that the tree of Life was in the Garden of Eden. For a quick review, let’s look at this passage:
The biblical story in Genesis Chapter 2:
Then the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and he placed there the man whom he had formed.
Out of the ground the LORD God made various trees grow that were delightful to look at and good for food, with the tree of life in the middle of the garden and the tree of the knowledge of good and bad. A river rises in Eden to water the garden; beyond there it divides and becomes four branches. The name of the first is the Pishon; it is the one that winds through the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. The gold of that land is excellent; bdellium and lapis lazuli are also there. The name of the second river is the Gihon; it is the one that winds all through the land of Cush. The name of the third river is the Tigris; it is the one that flows east of Asshur. The fourth river is the Euphrates. The LORD God then took the man and settled him in the garden of Eden, to cultivate and care for it. The LORD God gave man this order: “You are free to eat from any of the trees of the garden except the tree of knowledge of good and bad. From that tree you shall not eat; the moment you eat from it you are surely doomed to die.”
We know the rest of the story. God made Eve. Eve was deceived by the serpent. She ate the fruit from the TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL. ADAM followed suit and they both were cut off from the life God and died spiritually and emotionally. While they did not die physically, this act of rebellion even changed their orientation to the physical world.
Spiritually they died because they were no longer connected to their source. They were unplugged, so to speak. They were now plugged into the soulish realm where their focus was not diverted. Confused. They no longer had their sole/soul focus on God and his goodness. Their focus was split between good and evil. Instead of receiving the very life of God Himself and allowing that Life to flow through them, they would now be torn between two realms—good and evil. They would now be able to know evil and reproduce it. First in their thought life and then in their actions.
Wasn’t it the intent of the serpent to get them to doubt the wisdom and the goodness of God from the beginning? Didn’t the serpent insinuate that God was holding out on the beloved couple by not allowing them to have access to this Knowledge of GOOD and EVIL?
SATAN could have said: “My intent in coming to you is to first get you to doubt the motives of God. He is really not wholly on your side, by withholding this knowledge from you. He is not wanting to share his power with you, so go ahead…bite the big apple… take a walk on the wild side… and see how much more fulfilled you would be if you could ponder and/or choose evil too?”
As I was pondering this revelation, God led me to the following quote off the Internet:
In Judaism
According to the Jewish tradition God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree that was to give free choice and allow them to earn, as opposed to receive, absolute perfection and intimate communion with God at a higher level than the one on which they were created. According to this tradition, Adam and Eve would have attained absolute perfection and retained immortality had they succeeded in withstanding the temptation to eat from the Tree. After failing at this task, they were condemned to a period of toil to rectify the fallen universe. Jewish tradition views the serpent, and sometimes the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil itself, as representatives of evil and man’s evil inclination.
Isn’t that interesting? Note a few things. This is where we take a look at the results of eating from the TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL.
They died spiritually: They were cut off from intimate, unbroken communion with the Lord. They died emotionally: they felt feelings that would further cause them to back away from the creator and others…SHAME. They died to the physical world they knew. Now instead of receiving the ultimate provision from God, they would have to use the arm of the flesh and work for what they needed. The ground would no longer be as bountiful and they would have health complications (pain in child birth) and others that would follow.
What about their concept of God from that point on? Don’t you think it would be perverted and distorted? Before the rebellion, before the knowledge of good and evil was theirs –they only had knowledge of one thing: THE GOODNESS OF GOD. There was no other possibility that existed. There were no other thoughts that entered their minds. They did not doubt God. They did not doubt his goodness/His good intentions towards them. There was no dualism in their thoughts. But after the fall everything that is anti-life flooded their souls/minds. Pride, rebellion, shame, fear, anxiety, murder, etc….
THE POINT:
We as Christian need to maintain a singular focus if we want to experience life to the fullness. If we want to experience God in His fullness, we should continually eat from the TREE OF LIFE who is now our Jesus. We need to do this in order to renew our minds to their original state. The state of being totally centered on God and His Goodness and His Life. We need to receive the life of Christ and let it flow through us, instead of relying on the arm of the flesh to give us life. We also need to rid ourselves of any false concepts of God that may be blocking our healing. Concepts not consistent with the mercy and the grace of God. With the compassion of God. With the goodness of God. What we focus on the most magnifies. SELAH. EAT FROM THE TREE OF LIFE
